The way that we speak to each other influences the future that we create together.
In the summer of 2013, theater maker Lotte van den Berg and visual artist Daan ‘t Sas started the development of Building Conversation. From a great interest in conversation techniques from different cultures and from a curiosity about how the conversation functions as a meeting place, they started a research with the central question: ‘How do we talk to each other and how could we speak to each other?’
Building Conversation has since grown into a collective of artists who approach the conversation as a work of art, as a collective creation, a collective improvisation in which the audience is invited to participate. The conversations are inspired by conversation rituals from all over the world – including the Inuit, the Maori, a quantum physicist and Occupy.
